ABOUT THE ARTIST
Laura Dujoncquoy is a self-taught artist who started to create at an early age. From childhood, she expressed her full creativity through various personal projects by exploring shapes, materials and playing with colors.
Moving to Paris in 2015, Laura spends many hours in museums and is completely inspired by the city's artistic atmosphere.
From Kupka and Magnelli to today's emerging artists, she has lots of influences. Travel, architecture, design and music play an important role in her artistic process. These elements combine to create vibrant, dynamic works deeply rooted in a personal exploration of space, color and shapes. With her experiences and an attentive eye for the world around her, Laura is able to translate her emotions and inspirations into unique creations, marked by spontaneity and a search of harmony.
Her process is spontaneous, links between curves and abstract shapes reflects a certain musicality. Passionate by music, Laura approaches her creative process like a musical sequence: the brushstrokes are rhythmic and precise, and the forms follow like an improvised choreography.
Laura explores a variety of mediums - from ceramics to textiles, wood, paper, leather and metal. This diversity of materials drives her to create several types of objects both solar and poetic, either made from recycled materials or in collaboration with local artisans. Some of her pieces are unique, others produced in small series, but all convey the same desire to create timeless objects both functional and aesthetic.
Colorful, textured and rhythmic, Laura's abstract works express optimism and harmony. Filled of positivity tones and vibrant colors, her works sing through our eyes, stimulating our emotions.
